October Mahjong Class

3 Hours of Instruction + Play

Have you been wanting to learn American Mahjong? Come spend the afternoon with us and learn everything you need to get started playing!

After teaching more than 100 people to play, we’ve streamlined our Mahjong 101 + 102 classes into one fun, approachable three-hour class designed to take you from brand new beginner to actually playing around the table.

During class, you’ll learn:

• The tiles, suits and basic rules of American Mahjong
• How to read the 2026 National Mah Jongg League card
• How to deal and set up the game
• The Charleston
• How to choose and build a hand
• Calling tiles and exposures
• When to change hands
• Beginner strategy

Most importantly, you’ll play multiple games during class, with plenty of hands-on instruction and guidance along the way.

No experience is necessary, and we provide everything you need to play. Come with a friend or come on your own—we’ll have a seat waiting for you at the table.

Light refreshments will be served, and you’re welcome to BYOB.
